14 Gauge Hinge Pilot Hole Measurements

Modern garage doors have pre stamped pilot holes on the interior stiles. Pilot holes on new garage doors often line up with the guide holes on hinges. This makes securing the hinge with fasteners much easier.
Older garage doors will rarely have existing holes that line up with the holes on new hinges. This is perfectly normal and should be expected. Start new holes in a secure position on the hinge and consider using a thicker diameter self drilling screw.
Each hinge should have 3 screws on the top and bottom side of the roller carrier for a total of 6 per hinge.

Advantages of Residential Top Bracket

Alignment and Stability: Ensuring Proper Door Functionality
Among the most significant benefits of a residential top bracket is that it holds the door in alignment and stabilizes it. The upper bracket acts as a support structure that keeps the door on track when it opens and closes.

Durability and Strength: Enhancing Product Longevity
residential top brackets are made from galvanized steel, a material designed to resist corrosion. These materials are specifically engineered to be strong enough to withstand the common stresses and movements characteristic of this type of door.

Smooth Operation: Improving Door Performance
A well-maintained and properly installed top bracket will guarantee the safe and smooth operation of the garage door. By evenly distributing the door's weight, the rollers, and tracks are protected from resistance and wear.

Adjustability: Customizing to Fit Your Door
Many residential top brackets come with adjustable features, allowing them to accommodate different door sizes and configurations. This adjustability is especially beneficial for residential doors where standardization may vary.

Compatibility and Versatility: Fits Most Overhead Sectional Doors
Another advantage of garage door sectional top brackets is their universal design, which allows them to work with many different Sectional Overhead Doors. The top bracket doesn't discriminate based on your door's material - whether it's wood, steel, or composite; it is designed to be compatible with whichever type of door you have.

Functions of Residential Bottom Bracket

The residential bottom brackets attach to the bottom corners of the bottom section. The corner brackets hold the bottom roller in place and the extension spring cable or torsion spring cable is attached to the bracket.

Special Notice for Residential Bottom Brackets

Do not attempt to remove, adjust or loosen the screws on the garage door bottom brackets with spring tension still applied to the bracket. These brackets are connected to the garage door's spring by the lift cable and are under extreme tension when the door is closed and can cause serious injury if accidentally or deliberately loosened or removed.
